Top Falls at Dow Jones: Alcoa, Du Pont and Hewlett Packard

Bears dominated US stock markets on Friday as the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.69 percent or 89.23 points to 12,801.23. Standard & Poor’s 500 index declined 0.69 percent or 9.31 points to 1,342.64 while NASDAQ Composite slipped 0.80 percent or 23.35 points to 2,903.88 for the day. Alcoa Inc (NYSE:AA) plunged 3.29 percent to close at $10.29 in today’s session. The traded volume stood at 23.13 million shares as compared to its average traded volume figure of 28.74 million shares per day. The share price is still 6.71 percent above its 50-days simple moving average however its relative strength index of 53.34 shows that the stock has considerable margin for capital gains.

E I Du Pont De Nemours And Co (NYSE:DD) fell 1.75 percent to close at $51.15 in today’s session. Traded volume stood at 4.87 million shares as compared to its average traded volume figure of 6.22 million shares per day. The share priced was still 7.24 percent above its 50-days simple moving average and is trading near its overbought level as per its relative strength index of 64.29.

Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) declined 1.41 percent to close at $28.70 for the day. Its traded volume stood at 9.9 million shares as compared to its average traded volume figure of 17.04 million shares per day. The share price is still trading 5.45 percent above its 50-days simple moving average while RSI of 56.36 indicates that the stock has considerable margin for upward movement.
