Major Performers at DJIA: Bank of America, Hewlett Packard and United Technologies

Investors at the Wall Street took a breather on Wednesday as the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 0.66 percent or 83.55 points to settle at 12,716.46. Standard & Poor’s 500 index advanced 0.89 percent or 11.68 points to settle at 1,324.09 while the NASDAQ Composite Index gained 1.22 percent or 34.43 points to close at 2,848.27 for the day.

Bank of America Corp (NYSE:BAC) jumped 3.23 percent to close at $7.36 with traded volume of 317.72 million shares. The share price is trading near its overbought level as per its relative strength index of 68.68 while moved 23.35 percent above its 50-days simple moving average after yesterday’s surge.

Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) surged 2.79 percent to close at $28.76 in yesterday’s session. The traded volume stood at 14.96 million shares as compared to its average volume figure of 17.40 million shares per day. The share price is trading at a price to earnings of 8.80 times while its dividend yield stands at 1.67 percent.

United Technologies Corporation (NYSE:UTX) advanced 2.39 percent to close at $80.22 in yesterday’s session. The traded volume stood at 6.77 million shares as compared to its average traded volume figure of 4.49 million shares per day. The share price is trading at price to earnings of 14.59 times while its dividend yield stands at 2.39 percent.
