Hewlett Packard, Du Pont and Chevron Post Loses as Dow Jones Slips 73.11 Points

Wall Street ended lower despite first trading day of tech giant Facebook. Dow Jones corrected by 0.59 percent or 73.11 points to 12,369.38 on Friday. Standard & Poor’s 500 index fell 0.74 percent or 9.46 points to settle at 1,295.22 while NASDAQ Composite declined 1.24 percent or 34.90 to 2,778.79 for the day.

Hewlett-Packard Company (HPQ) plunged 2.72% to close at $21.46 in its last trading session. The traded volume stood at 25.56M shares as compared to its average traded volume of 17.01M shares per day. The share price’s market capitalization stood at $42.43B by the end of the trading session while its total outstanding shares accumulate up to 1.98B.

E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company (DD) fell 1.78% to close at $47.97 in its last trading session. The traded volume stood at 6.72M shares as compared to its average traded volume of 4.79M shares per day. By the end of the session the stock’s price to earnings ratio stood at 12.85 times. Chevron Corporation (CVX) declined 1.68% to close at $98.46.
