US stock markets moved with upbeat sentiments on Tuesday as the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.48 percent or 60.01 points to close at 12,482.07 points. Standard & Poor 500 index advanced 0.36 percent or 4.58 points to 1,293.67 while NASDAQ Composite index surged 0.64 percent or 17.41 to settle at 2,728.08 for the day. Cisco Systems Inc (NASDAQ:CSCO) jumped 1.31 percent to close at $19.31 in yesterday’s session. The traded volume stood at 40.40 million shares as compared to its average volume figure of 47.25 million shares per day. Cisco is trading at a price to earnings of 16.79 times while its dividend yield stands at 1.24 percent.
Merck & Co Inc (NYSE:MRK) gained 1.30 percent to settle at 38.82 in yesterday’s session. Traded volume stood at 16.55 million shares while on average the stock traded with volume figure of 16.33 million shares per day. Merck is trading near its overbought level as per its relative strength index of 67.14.
United Technologies Corporation (NYSE:UTX) surged 1.26 percent to close at $77.04 with traded volume of 5.14 million shares. The share price is trading at a price to earnings of 14.45 times while its dividend yield stands at 2.49 percent.
