General Electric, (GE), is a diversified manufacturer organized into five segments: technology infrastructure, energy infrastructure, capital services, and home and business services. In recent technology infrastructre news, the company provided an integrated solution for 24 miles and 15 new stations of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Green Line that was launched into service in December 2010.

GE Capital announced it has recently become administrative agent on a $150 million asset-based revolving credit facility for New Jersey based computer products distributor, ArchBrook Laguna. In 2009, 13% of the firms profit came through the Capital Services segment.

General Electric was founded in 1892 and is headquartered in Fairfield, Connecticut. keeping with its move towards power infrastructure and alternative energies, GE dedicated a new 45 million Renewable Energy Global Headquarters in Schenectady, N.Y. in 2009. GE’s globally installed fleet of wind turbines generates enough electricity to power an estimated 6 million U.S. homes. In early 2011, the company entered a strategic agreement with China’s Huadian Corporation for a five-year collaboration for combined heat and power distributed energy projects in China. The agreement is an example of GE’s commitment to investing in and identifying solutions to meet the energy needs of the future on a global scale.
